Renewable Energy & Battery Backup Sales Specialist

Department: Sales / Energy Solutions

Location: Position available in Ontario and Calgary

Reports To: Sales Manager / Director of Energy Solutions

Position Overview:

The Renewable Energy & Battery Backup Sales Specialist is responsible for developing and growing sales of renewable energy systems, including solar and battery backup and Standby Generator solutions. This role combines technical understanding with strong relationship-building skills to identify opportunities, support channel partners, and deliver tailored energy solutions to dealers and commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage relationships with dealers and installers to promote renewable energy and battery storage products.

  • Identify new business opportunities and provide customized energy solutions that meet customer needs.

  • Support channel partners with technical sales training, product knowledge, and marketing tools.

  • Stay current on market trends, competitor offerings, and product advancements in solar and energy storage.

  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to represent the company and expand market presence.

  • Coordinate with internal logistics and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Track and report on sales activities, forecasts, and pipeline development using CRM tools.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of incentive programs, rebates, and financing options to help customers maximize ROI.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Business, Electrical, or Renewable Energy fields (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in B2B or B2C sales, preferably in renewable energy, battery storage, or electrical products.

  • Proven ability to manage sales cycles from prospecting to closing.

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to explain system designs and benefits in simple terms.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software

  • Willingness to travel as needed for customer and site visits.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of solar and energy storage systems, including products like EP Cube, FranklinWH, and Simpliphi.

  • Experience supporting dealer networks or channel sales.

  • Understanding of electrical systems, system sizing, and energy management.

  • Experience with project financing or incentive programs related to renewable energy.
