Unsure of your home's amp service? Check these locations in your home:

Electrical Panel

  • Locate the panel on a wall near your furnace or water heater, or where utility power enters your home.
  • Inspect your electrical panel for label that indicates its amperage rating.

Main Breaker

  • Find your main breaker — it's the largest breaker in your electrical panel.
  • Look for the capacity written on it or adjacent to it.

Power Management

Make your backup power go further with a power management system. It prioritizes power for what you really need, reduces fuel costs and allows you to use a smaller-size generator to power your home.

With a Briggs & Stratton generator, you have two power management systems to choose from:

Amplify Power Management

Duel Low Voltage Module:

  • Compatible with the Amplify transfer switch bundle; controls any two thermostatically-controlled appliances (like two AC units).
  • Can be installed inside your home and does not require any additional wiring.

High Voltage Module:

  • Compatible with Amplify transfer switch bundle; allows for flexible placement and simple installation.

Symphony® II Power Management

Low Voltage Module

  • Manages the power flowing to your home’s high-wattage appliances
  • Can be installed inside of your home and does not require any additional wiring.
  • Backed by a three-year limited warranty1.

50 Amp Module

  • Manages generator output with any 120- or 240-volt home appliances, like your stove, oven and electric heat.
